THE ROLE OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHERS IN IMPROVING STUDENTS' SELF CONTROL

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in improving students' self-control. In addition, this study also aims to determine the obstacles of Islamic Religious Education teachers in improving students' self-control. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive-analytic research method. The results showed that (1) students in this school generally do not have the ability to control themselves; (2) in an effort to improve student self-control, the teacher makes a habituation program, namely getting used to praying dhuha, tadarus Al-Qur'an, and getting used to behaving according to the rules of the madrasa where the goal is that students are able and accustomed to positive behavior; and (3) the obstacles of Islamic religious education teachers in improving students' self-control include the students' dishonesty in acting and acting.
