This article discusses the challenges faced by Islamic higher education (PTAI) labor market competition. The results of the study show that in facing the challenges of employment, Islamic higher education is seriously demanded to immediately evaluate itself as a whole, even if it is necessary to reorient its vision and objectives. Although the general HE also has problems of relevance to the world of work, but for PTAI the problems and challenges are more serious, because the niche of employment that can be accessed by PTAI graduates is very limited. That is why PTAI needs to develop strategies in dealing with various employment problems and challenges. The strategy that needs to be developed by PTAI is how PTAI can stay focused and continue to strengthen its comparative advantage, strengthen its educational vision and objectives, improve the curriculum, increase productivity orientation, develop international classes, and develop human resources, so that PTAI graduates can compete in fighting for an increasingly limited job market.
