The aim of this study is to investigate Relationship between intellectual capital and competitive advantage of  a private bank. The present study was of the applicable type from aspect of purpose and was descriptive and correlational from aspect of method. The statistical population was employees of a private bank that their number was 220 that according to Morgan, 136 of them were randomly chosen. The data collection tool was research-built questionnaire which its validity and reliability were confirmed in this study. In this regard, triple indicators as human capital, structural capital and relational capital in order to explain the intellectual capital were considered. In the first phase, after confirming the reliability and validity of the designed questionnaire using t, indicators used in this study were examined. After confirming the used indicators by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, the statistical distribution of the dependent variable of model for statistical inference was evaluated. After verifying the normality of the distribution of the dependent variable and hypothesis of the model, linear relationship between variables was investigated using the Pearson correlation coefficient. The results showed that with 95% confidence it can be said that there is a significant positive relationship among the intellectual capital and components of human capital, structural capital and relational capital with an advantage in the bank there. What can be concluded from the findings is that to able to function and be effective in today competitive and varying environment, it is necessary the organizations identify, measure, and evaluate their intellectual capital level. In today's knowledge-based environment, intellectual capital is not only the most important part of the organization's capital but also providing a sustainable competitive advantage for the organization. So, managers must not only increase their knowledge in the field of intellectual capital, but must also by strengthening its components (human capital, structural capital, and relational capital) develop this area in their organization. The effectiveness and efficiency of the organization achieved by attention to the intellectual capital and with regard to the nature of this important, it would be the possible to plan, optimize, control and monitor the competitive advantage for the organization.
